CtrlOps Terms & Conditions: Read Before You Begin
Last Updated: August 26, 2026
By downloading, installing, or using CtrlOps, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and TST Tech Matrix Pvt Ltd ("CtrlOps", "we", "us", "our"), the company behind CtrlOps. They cover your use of the CtrlOps desktop application, our website, and anything connected to them (together, the "Service").
We have kept this in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
01. Who can use CtrlOps
CtrlOps is built for professional server management. To agree to these Terms yourself, you must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. If you are using CtrlOps for a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms on that company's behalf.
If you are under 18, you may use CtrlOps only under the supervision of, and through an account held by, a parent, guardian, or the organization you work with, who accepts these Terms for you.
02. What CtrlOps is
CtrlOps is a local-first desktop application for managing your Linux servers. It runs on your own machine and connects to your servers over SSH. It gives you a clean interface for routine server tasks, plus an AI Terminal that turns plain English into server commands.
The most sensitive things you handle, your server credentials, keys, commands, logs, and files, stay on your device. How we handle the limited data we do collect is explained in our Privacy Policy.
03. Your license to use CtrlOps
CtrlOps is licensed to you, not sold. As long as your paid plan or free trial is active, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use CtrlOps for your own server management, personal or business.
That is the whole of what you are allowed to do with the software. Anything not granted here is reserved by us.
04. What you may not do (and anti-piracy)
To keep CtrlOps fair for everyone who pays for it, you must not, and must not help anyone else, do any of the following:
- Copy, crack, patch, keygen, or otherwise get around any license check, activation, trial limit, or payment step in the software
- Use a pirated, cracked, "nulled", or unlicensed copy of CtrlOps, or any tool or trick built to unlock paid features without paying
- Share, resell, sublicense, rent, or hand out your license key or the software to anyone else
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except where the law says that right cannot be taken away
- Remove or change any copyright, branding, or ownership notices in the software
✓ Any use of a pirated, cracked, or license-bypassed copy of CtrlOps is not allowed, breaks these Terms, and immediately ends your license.
If we find this happening, we may block access, request takedowns, and take legal action, including claims for injunctions, damages, and legal costs, under copyright and technology laws in India and in your own country. If you come across a pirated or cracked copy of CtrlOps anywhere, please tell us at support@ctrlops.io.
05. Who owns CtrlOps
CtrlOps, including all of its code, design, features, name, logo, and content, is owned by TST Tech Matrix Pvt Ltd and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You get a license to use the Service (Section 03). You do not get any ownership of it. Anything you create with CtrlOps on your own servers stays yours.
06. Your account
To use CtrlOps you create an account, either by signing in with Google or by entering your email and a one-time code. You agree to give accurate information and to keep your login secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Tell us at support@ctrlops.io if you think someone else has gained access to your account.
If you set a vault password to lock CtrlOps on your device, please keep it safe. For your security there is no recovery option, so if you forget it, it cannot be reset, and we cannot recover it for you.
07. Plans, pricing, and payment
CtrlOps offers monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans. Current plans and prices are shown on our Pricing page at /pricing, which is always the most up-to-date source.
Payments are handled by Razorpay for customers in India and Creem for international customers. We do not store your full card details.
A few things to know:
- Free trial: new users get a one-month free trial. We may change trial length in the future, and any change applies to new sign-ups from that point on.
- Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime before the next renewal, and you will keep access until the period you already paid for ends. The lifetime plan is a one-time payment, not a subscription.
- Taxes in India: for customers in India, the price shown already includes GST. The amount you see is the final amount you pay.
- Taxes outside India: for international customers, prices are shown before tax, and any applicable taxes are added at checkout.
- Price changes: we may update pricing from time to time, and we will give notice before your next renewal.
08. Refunds
Refunds are handled under our separate Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Please read it for what is and is not eligible, including for trials, subscriptions, and lifetime plans.
09. Using CtrlOps the right way
CtrlOps is a tool for legitimate, lawful server work. Please use it that way.
You agree not to use CtrlOps:
- to access, manage, or interfere with any server or system you are not authorized to use
- for anything illegal, harmful, or malicious, or to harm another person, business, or network
- in a way that breaks any law that applies to you
In short: use it for good, honest work on infrastructure you are allowed to touch. If you misuse it, we can suspend or end your access (Section 15).
10. Your servers stay in your control
CtrlOps helps you run commands on your own servers, and you stay in control the whole time. By default, every AI-suggested command is shown to you first and only runs after you approve it.
CtrlOps also gives you an optional setting you can turn on yourself that lets the AI Terminal run commands without asking for approval each time. This is your choice. If you switch it on, you are choosing to skip the approval step, and you take responsibility for the commands that run.
Because you decide what runs, please treat CtrlOps like any powerful server management tool: review commands before you approve them, keep your own backups, and take extra care with any no-approval mode. Once a command runs on your server, its effects happen on your infrastructure, and we are not able to reverse them for you.
Sharing access with others is your responsibility. If you give another person access to your servers, whether through CtrlOps or in any other way, what they do with that access is between you and them. CtrlOps only manages the software, so we are not responsible for anything that happens because you granted someone else access.
11. The AI Terminal
CtrlOps includes an AI Terminal, and here is how it works in plain terms:
- We do not provide or host an AI model. You bring your own AI provider key, or you run a model locally on your device.
- When you use your own key, your prompts go directly from your machine to that AI provider under your own account and their terms. When you run a local model, nothing leaves your device.
- CtrlOps does not receive, store, or train on your AI prompts or responses.
Because the AI is provided by you and can make mistakes, we are not responsible for the accuracy, safety, or results of any AI-generated output. By default, every command needs your approval before it runs, so you always have the final say. If you turn on the optional mode that lets commands run without approval, that is your choice and your responsibility. As a good habit, avoid putting secrets like passwords or keys into AI prompts when using a cloud AI provider.
12. Third-party services
CtrlOps works alongside services you choose or connect, such as your AI provider, your cloud or hosting provider, and your own storage for backups. Those services are run by others and have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is between you and them.
13. The Service is provided "as is"
We work hard to make CtrlOps reliable and useful. That said, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether stated or implied, to the extent the law allows.
We do not currently offer a specific uptime guarantee or service level agreement (SLA) on our licensing and account backend. It may occasionally be unavailable, for example during maintenance. Because CtrlOps is local-first, the app itself keeps working on your machine independent of our backend for most tasks.
14. Limitation of liability
This section matters, so we have kept it clear.
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data, downtime, or business interruption.
- Our total liability to you for any and all claims connected to the Service is limited to the total fees you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Some laws do not allow certain liabilities to be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Suspension and termination
You can stop using CtrlOps and close your account at any time.
We may suspend or end your access immediately if you break these Terms, use a pirated or cracked copy, misuse the Service, or do not pay. When your license ends, your right to use CtrlOps stops, and you should uninstall it. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, anti-piracy, limitation of liability, and governing law, stay in effect after termination.
16. Publicity and marketing
We are proud of the companies and people who use CtrlOps, and we sometimes like to show it. By using CtrlOps, you agree that:
- Showcasing you as a customer. We may identify you or your company as a CtrlOps user and display your name and logo on our website and marketing materials. If you would prefer we did not, just email support@ctrlops.io and we will remove it.
- Use cases and case studies. We may use non-confidential information about how you use CtrlOps to create examples or case studies. For anything that names you directly or quotes you, we will ask for your okay first.
- Communications. We may send you service messages about your account, and marketing emails about CtrlOps. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, and we will still send the essential service messages you need.
We will always respect your brand and your privacy, and we will never share anything you have given us in confidence.
17. Changes to the Service and these Terms
CtrlOps keeps improving, so we may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also update these Terms. When we make a significant change, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and let you know by email or in the app. If you keep using CtrlOps after a change, that means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute connected to CtrlOps or these Terms will be handled by the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and you agree to that jurisdiction. Before going to court, please contact us first, most issues can be sorted out quickly by email.
19. General
- Whole agreement: these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, and (for business customers) our Data Processing Agreement, are the full agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If one part fails: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- Transfer: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours, for example if our business is reorganized.
- No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we give it up.
